http://www.alawpro.com The MRI contrast agent Gadolinium has been linked to Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis (NSF). Injured? Call now for a free consultation with a California lawyer (1-800-A-LAW-PRO )
The issue of nephrogenic sclerosing fibrosis (NSF) due to gadolinium is relevant only in patients with severe kidney dysfunction. A recent presentation from Mayo Clinic pointed out that even in that group, the frequency is less than 2% of patients and that 98% of those occurred in patients on dialysis or in a range of renal glomerular filtration rate that usually requires dialysis, and none had glomerular filtration rate >30 mL/1.56 m2/min - the usual cutoff for severe renal dysfunction.
Read the comment below. Don't think so. I had gadolinium 3 or 4 times myself and am in sad shape.
