Can the recent peace settlement end Africa's longest running war? Filmed over eight months, this report profiles three children's experiences in war torn Sudan.

"The first task ahead of us is reconciliation so that we can definitely say farewell to arms," explains SPLA leader Dr John Garang. "By signing we will be able to set out a new horizon for our country." Everyone in Sudan has been touched by the conflict. Michael became a child soldier when he was ten. Now he hopes he will be able to go to school. Nineteen year old Sulwa is desperate to return home. But like many, she's lost trust in her government. "While peace is finalised in the South, another war is breaking out in Darfur," she laments. However, most experts believe that, while the agreement is far from perfect, it is the best opportunity for peace in years.

The English empire divided the country down religious lines as they did in most countries (divide and conquer), don't let their legacy be yours. Peace, freedom and love, for then you can have prosperity in all forms and develop true happiness.

I clearly told you that previously. It was opportunism, the only source of weapons to start the war were easily obtained from Mengistu who was a communist. remember, "a bird in hand is worth two in the bush". Mengistu was a bird in hand, you seem not to understand politics!

You did not answer my question: why were/are capitalist west and our valuable brothers; Uganda,Kenya,Eritrea and Ethiopia SPLA if they are communist?? Bashir and NCP are fascists. He will be hung in front of all arabs!!

In its 1983 legal code, The Sudan People's Revolutionary Laws: SPLM/SPLA Punitive Provisions for the Conduct of the People's Revolution, the SPLA stated that:

The MARXIST-LENINIST Movement known as the Sudan People's Liberation Movement shall be the sole people's political organization established in the interest of the oppressed working masses of the Sudanese people.

The first weapons that we used to kill the arabs were obtained from Ethiopia which happened to have been communist. Having used Mengistu's weapons did not make the SPLA communist but it was an opportunity. To prove you wrong mr.loser, the SPLA has been getting financial and military aid from the USA, Norway,Uganda,Kenya,Eritrea and Ethiopia(under Meles),these are not communists. If you think so, then why were/are capitalist America and EU helping the SPLA. America does well, killing the arabs!!
