Mr. Possum meets the Palomino Cat

This baby possum had the misfortune of getting caught in a rat trap inside of my storage shed; fortunately, the trap had a wimpy spring so all it did was hold the possum until I managed to hear its cries and release it's head. I observed and fed it for a few days in the guest bathtub prior to taking this video. I gave the possum to a neighbor who has raised several young possums in the past to a point where they were released back into the wild. Wild animals should not be kept as pets.

@MarkoHero12 No, not at all. One of my neighbors took him and raised the little guy up to where he could be released back into the wild. Now he comes over every night to dine on the food that is left over from the cat's evening meal, He's HUGE now thanks to the good food that he gets here at the house along with what he gets out of neighbor's trach cans.

We have possums living under our propane tanks and we keep food out for them every evening. So far we have been graced with two litters. Eventually they spread out and wander away. Opossums are harmless little creatures who will not attack and are not aggressive at all. They keep gardens and yards clean of worms, bugs, and snails. They seem to have a very harmonious relationship with our four cats, often sharing the food bowl at the same time.
