I really do think Sydney hosted the greatest Olympic Games ever. The atmosphere that enveloped the city was wonderfully friendly, festive, and inclusive, and the times around world didn't feel heavy as they do now. The Olympic spirit was able to shine its brightest. Cities can't feverishly spend, design, build, or organize there way into hosting such an event. Either the atmosphere will be there or it won't. And the Aussies has it in huge amounts.

NBC has amazing fluff and intros. Its a bit cheesy, but gets you into it.

They should have mentioned Melbourne 1956 when we last hosted the games.

What song is that at 7:06?
silverliner269 2 years ago
It is the continuation of Bugler's Dream. Bugler's Dream spans from 6:21 to 7:18.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't Bob Costas have his own intro between this tease and the actual show open?

You are probably right, James Earl Jones' narration was actually aired after the Bugler's Dream intro. This is why I put in the description "out of order". I thought that maybe this was somehow not aired when it was supposed to.
