Thanks for sharing this! Candlestick patterns are a really old way of trading that works in most markets, unfortunately it isn't the most reliable thing in the US equities market but I've heard they work quite well still in Forex. My favorite ones are the doji and spinning tops though those seem to work fairly well.
Does anybody know if Candlestick Patterns - are commonly used by TRADERS on an intra-day basis ?
Sure, many traders probably look at candlesticks - on the daily and monthly charts.
But do TRADERS pay attention to candlesticks - on the 1-minute or 5-minute chart and make trading decisions, based on candlesticks that were just created, minutes ago ?
in my experience it is in fact more useful to use in a smaller time frame. I would say that candle sticks are the most important thing in trading PERIOD.
As i've always told everyone I teach, candle sticks show everything that you need to know about the market. If you understand candle, you can trade anything - thats my view.
