Sadly, Shannon lost her battle to leukemia on November 1, 2010. Although she never found her perfect match, Shannon hoped that her efforts to recruit bone marrow donors would produce matches for other patients in need. I never had the "Honor" or "Privilege" of meeting or knowing this extremly talented young lady. But the same thought's and emotions, return to me when I lost my little brother. Who better to have, as our Guardian Angel...to watch over, and protect us than...Shannon Skye Tavarez. I beleave Shannon is experiencing another life, beyond any life...you or I can imagine, and she has the power to protect you from harm in your life...with just a suttle, angelic wave of her hand, she can and she will.

Shannon's' mom started a foundation in her memory. The name of the foundation is Shannon's S.H.A.R.E. and they have a website. Her legacy lives on as people are still being touched by her story!! God Bless angel Shannon!
