Yeah I'm sure he did get really lucky to make the final 9, but so did everyone else that's there. To make the final 9 in a field of 6500 runners, you'll not only need to play great you'll need to get veryy lucky.

Begleiter folded KK face up preflop earlier in the tourney. Folding KK face up preflop allowed Ran Azor to finish 2nd ahead of many tough pros at the final table of the WPT World Championship earlier this year.
It seems that Vedes shoud have taken a page out of their playbook.
