Sexual imagery is so dominated by the male gaze that when men are treated as sexual objects it's still assumed to be for a male audience, thus, the assumption of gayness. That's the lopsided affect of patriarchy on society.

I don't understand your comment (bigshrimpn) on how this shows that women don't understand men. Plus that is NOT what the show is all about anyway. It's not about the psyche, it's about women and transgender artists looking at male bodies versus the traditional view of men artists viewing the female nude.

Why do you think women don't watch porn that often? Because they don't need visuals? Are there any porn videos with handsome men (I don't mean extremely musculate and ugly faces) and less focusing on tits and girls' bodies? No, unless you pay.

This just shows how much women don't understand men. It's not a bad thing though. The genders aren't supposed to fully understand each other. You can't dissect what a person is thinking by looking at their exterior. Men are programmed by nature to be stimulated by visuals. Women are stimulated by social interaction. As a straight guy, this exhibit does nothing for me I have to say.

That's the whole point. It's not suppose to feel as though it is marketed for the way we gaze at men. It's trying to show us different ways of gazing at men, not just the accepted, traditional way (ripped bodies, 6-pack and chiselled jawline like Men's Health cover models, Brad Pitt, etc.). The exhibit is trying to show us how men can be beautiful in many different ways.
