would like a written version or instructions
this is great

@marlib7 Yes! You are correct! If you alternate your first loop-making stitch from row to row, you will offset the crosses. If you always start the row with the same kind of stitch, the crosses are lined up vertically (assuming you have not added or decreased any stitches).

ok I watched it again and I think i get it now, you alternate the tss and cross stitch on the first stitch. so one row starts tss, next row starts cross stitch
hope so anyway

so for the offset cross stitch, do I start with a TSS for the first stitch on one row and then a cross stitch all the way across on second row, then start with a TSS on the third row

@montrealstars60 You are welcome! It has great texture, doesn't it? And so very easy to make.

the only thing I found unenjoyable about the offset cross stitch was that it really curled alot. I will fix this by putting another row of blocks under it, or doing an edging. I love tunisian crochet, I am addicted. I want to do double ended now

@marlib7 That's the comment of a serious addict! Tunisian crochet is a good addiction. Hope you enjoy the double-ended versions just as much.

Ok, I finished this block.............finally. I did not find that it pulled in my fabric at all, but I can say this one I enjoyed the least of all the tunisian stitches I have done. the block beside it is the TKS/RAS and when I started I picked up the bars on the back bump of the chain. also with the offset cross stitch. the offset cross stitch block curled, while the TKS/RAS did not

@marlib7 Hurrah for finishing the block! Sorry that it was more vexing than some of the others...and that it is curling. I hope blocking will help the curl. Also having other squares (and maybe edgings?) surrounding the block may help to smooth out the fabric.
Did you enjoy offset cross least because of the doing of it? Because of the finished effect of the fabric? Just curious.
I find cross stitches, offset and not, require a little more concentration to find that second/right loop.
