Wonderful, two great dames. Thanks for posting. Martha Raye entertained the troops longer than anyone else, Marlene Dietrich came second. Martha was actually buried in her uniform. Robbie.

I was lucky enough to meet Martha as a child @ marine HQ 8th and I street in D.C. what a charmer and she was in uniform that lovely day. My first (of many) celeb encounters! loved her as witchy poo!!!

Martha Raye was a great actress and comedian as well as a singer. She was way ahead of her time and had a great sense of humor. God bless her.. Her later years were rather sad. She was taken advantage of by her very much younger gay husband.
