You are a great speaker lol. You seemed casual enough to be likeable, but you were fluid enough to have been reading off of a script.

Cheers! Just out of curiosity I found similar headphone but cheaper that can noise cancel 20 dB they're called the Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7b. Do you know anything about these and if they compete with the sennheiser you are reviewing? Thanks a heap

Great Review! I plan to buy a pair cost efficient. I just have one request make a signoff that sets you apart font just turn off the camera its your choice, but again bravo.

Great review, just ordered a pair for myself.

NC does not cancel random noises like conversation, and drilling isnt a constant enough noise for the circuitry to identify, if you get my meaning like for the circuitry to remain efficient, it cannot constantly record and gnereate a negative phase of it it will do so only when a constant noise is found, and monitoring is set to more far apart intervals
manufacturers tweak variables and materials used
by the way, all of the above is just observations made from two pairs of dismantled ANC sets
How good is the noise cancelling do you reckon it compares with sennheisers pxc 350?

@EditorAwesome Im not familiar with the Sennheisers. i can say though that the noise canceling does a very good job of blocking out background noise (washing machines, airplane noise, road noise, etc). Additionally, the noise canceling technology incorporates an audio amplifier so when noise canceling is on, the music is a little louder and also clearer/crisper. The price to performance ratio on these is ridiculous; 3 years later I am still impressed at the quality of sound and performance.

I have a question. I always wear out the cords on my headphones so when I ordered a pair of ANC7, I was excited that it has an easily replaceable detachable cord. However, I went to the audio-technica website and couldn't find where they sold separate/replacement cords. I'm certain that eventually, in a year or 2 I'll need one. Do you know where I can get extra cords?

There isnt anything special about the cord, its just a 6ft long cable with 3.5mm mini AV connectors on the ends. You can find these pretty much anywhere, radio shack, best buy, circuit city, etc.

I've read about there being sound leakage in the ones that have been recently produced. Can your roommates/other people hear your music when you are playing it without the noise canceling feature on?

Yes, there is sound leakage at moderate to high volume even with noise canceling turned on. If you want to play your music loud people around will be able to hear if it is quiet.
