Why is this racist? A lot of Mexican roles in television are gardeners, maids, babysitters, etc. I don't see them bitching. Plus, I doubt there were any intentions of being racist in this commercial.
America is ENTIRELY TOO FOCUSED ON BLACK AND WHITE. Many of you on here were born in the '80s and thereafter, not in the '50s and '60s. So why are you so fixated on black vs white?! STOP BEING SO THIRSTY FOR RACIST OPPORTUNITIES and creating RACISM that is NOT THERE. For crying out loud.
its a commercial...chill the fuck out....its not racist or had racist intentions most people start out in the mailroom at companies...also all these people are suppose to be currupt anyway....but again its a lotto commercial....
This commercial is satire, and I wouldn't be so sure to say the mailroom guy is so bad off. In some companies the mailroom job is entry level- you observe in an internship style way and then move up to executive. That's why in his dialogue he says "I'm learning a lot." But he is not corrupt like the rest of the company- that's why he wants to go for the lotto.
It's a funny premise, good actor. But I agree there is a tinge of racism here even though it is not the intention. I think it's just a clumsy oversight by creators and the client that the corrupt morally deficient guys are white and the mailroom guy is black. It's not a race thing, it's meant to be comedy so you shouldn't read too much into it, but still I think they should have been a little more sensitive to that potential issue in casting.
