@KillerNeuron That's just the aesthetic in which a classically trained player is taught. Consistent, continuous vibrato is used at all times, esp. on lower strings where you have to use wider vibrato to get a response. This tends to not transfer to pizz. well, but for some styles of music it works. I'm betting that his cello has even response time across the strings if not on the lower two.

@violabrain definitely. lots of cellists make the mistake of muddling pizzicato passages with heavy vibrato... it is a garnish, not the main course! :)

@KillerNeuron I love the resonance and clarity he gets out of the C-string with those pizzicatos without using a ton of vibrato.

Emmm... Not to be a "debby downer" or mean or anything like that but... I think that they would sounds better on a cd instead of live. Just my personal opinion. Take it or leave it.

these guys are great.......really like them.....
Old songs like "Get around town" were good already but these newer songs are just unbeleivable!!!

FUCKING YES. love the cellist. finally, KEXP finds a band with some string talent! something tells me that guy is an electric bassist too with how he pizzacatos...
