Inle Lake and the floating gardens - it's all about tomatoes

North of Nampan are these famous gardens, where Intha farmers rise flowers , tomatoes Squsash and other fruit and vegetables on long wooden trellises supported on floating mats of vegetation. In the morning and afternoon farmers paddle up and down between the rows tending crops. Most vegetables are sent to Nyaungshwe where the are packed and transported to major cities like Mandalay and Yangoon.
