I'm sorry but I thought this was going to be an objective documentary. Instead we get this "pioneer spirit" and "oh wondrous American dream" bullshit shoved down our throats. People are people, and they behave alike no matter where you are around the world. So please cut out the odious propaganda and start behaving like a history channel.

I'd love to "reinvent things" even in this day and age. If only it weren't for IP laws stifling invention. If I invent something great, I have to fear that it might have been previously invented and submitted to the patent office and I'd be sued into oblivion by a team of lawyers.The only way to research prior art is to pour hundreds of thousands of dollars into research. Sorry, I don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I guess we can see why the History Channel has nothing to do with history. 2012, aliens, pawn shops, etc. Now we get celebrities, politicians, and journalists who are no authority on any era of history teaching us American History. Wouldent it have been cheaper just to get proffesors who hold degrees in those specific eras of history? Nope! Just give us celebrities who dont know jack. This whole documentary "The Sory of Us" was a load of unspecific junk with no detail and dubious accuracy.
