it has three conductors use a cable with three conductors to match the connection on the connector so you get a right and left signal this means you get directionality in the sound wave which is important and if you use on connection you only get half the signal so for most rock songs you might here a guitar with a very faded out voice or get a simular effect with most other songs you could combine the channels if you wanted to use only two cables it sound better my way
