  • my horse rears whenever i put side reins on even when they're loose, any tips?

  • Thank you for such a great video (:

  • @majority side reins can really help a horse when used correctly. I use them on my off the track thoroughbred they helped build her topline up.

  • @drover92 Contraption of torture? Do you not know about longing tack? this is NOT torture. Torture is a horse in the hands of someone with no clue, or someone who believes they think like humans. A longing cavesson is a great training aid.

  • @kallieth Actually used in the right hands they are very good and helpful for a horse which has been yanked about.

  • @drover92 she is probably just nervous, she knows what she is talking about and lunged him well. If she was as awful as you say I doubt he would go so well.

  • Thanks for the video! Helped a bunch. :) People who think side reins are terrible have either 1) never used them or 2) used them improperly to where their horse's head was yanked to its chest. Nice video and beautiful horse!

  • That poor horse. The horse is standing there in her intro with this nitwit pulling and tugging on that contraption of torture. The horse is showing his displeasure and frustration at her ridiculous behaviour and she has no sense of feel of the horse. I bet she rides with her reins pulled hard on too. Please viewer ignore this fool. This is everything bad in horse training. used correctly side reins are a great help in developing a horses top line and carriage, but this is the pits.

  • @darknightfall No because they have elestic on them so they stretch when needed :)

  • Okay, this might be a stupid question, but why would you want the side reins equal length? Wouldnt you want the outer rein to be a little bit longer then the rein to the inside, to encourage bend? Please help me out! Haha thanks :)
