Conference organized by the Embassy of Switzerland, together with the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), on current efforts in Switzerland and the United States to develop a "whole of government" approach to global development policy. This approach would streamline interagency efforts and coordinate strategies among various organizations and departments to create a more efficient structure for global development aid. Interest in this approach has grown following a successful "3C Conference" in Geneva last March, where participants defined a roadmap for a more Coherent, Coordinated and Complementary (3C) global development policy. The December follow-up conference brought together experts from the Swiss government, the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Defense, USAID, Congress, NATO, OECD, the World Bank, the UN, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector to discuss progress and to share strategies for a more integrated and streamlined structure for global development aid.
