@deadlyorgans (cont'd)
just wanted to add that even if i was making money from this channel, it wouldn't invalidate my argument, as I still live in a quasi capitalistic society and therefore need to 'earn' my right to live on this planet, so participation in any system that first puts a stranglehold on resources and then prices them out is not by my own voluntary choice, or in any way according to my values.

Anyone who speaks against capitalism should be deported to europe.
You need to realize that technologies like solar, wind, geothermal, computers, medicines, running water etc were result of capitalism.
-
Wow, according to this there is no shortage of things in the world. We only need to not own anything and then we can have everything. Its like fortune cookie arguments.
-
@jonatron5 Capitalism, not always but mostly, works in the favor of those who are the most ambitious for wealth and power, which are often the most contemptible types of people who exploit everyone else. This is what you ignorants consider to be human nature. Funny, considering that that only has basis on your own warped narrow-minded perceptions and not on any actual facts.
-
@jonatron5 If you wanted legitimate answers to those questions, you would have found them on your own, but you're obviously the narrow-minded type. Your argument for capitalism is pretty lame. "Allowys you to go out earn moeny" translates to "allows you to go out and commit about 40% of the time in your life to a task that is in all likelihood pointless just so you can have the ability to eat, have a roof over your head, and be yourself in the small amount of free time you have.

Capitalist ideology defends the economic system with a dishonest conception of work. It says that in order to have, one must work. At the same time however, it must remain ignorant of the idleness of the capitalist class.

@saydaysago2008 We need both the best of free & fair trade
-
@tjohn1986 1.) Exactly, that's why we need replaceable, universally interchangeable parts.

2.) That's true, creation of automations does take human effort, but advancing the machines is not a requirement. If we employed all the automation we have today, we could take care of everyone around the world. Then we can worry about advancement.
3.) It shouldn't be the biggest.

@jsmithr56 If I killed you, and took all your land because I'm greedy, would you consider that good?
Kardashian's using sweat-shops, nuf said about that.
Except when pharmaceutical companies push drugs and work against the scientific model to get faulty products out there to make as much money as possible. As long as not too many workers die, it's all good, because there will always be more consumers.
-
@jsmithr56 No, he's clearly a part of the Zeitgeist Movement, and thinks that automation is good, because it removes repetitive and very often socially useless jobs.
Except it hasn't, because today around 80% of the jobs in the US are service jobs. The "Luddite Fallacy," is no fallacy, it is the most brilliant thing in modern society. A means to make work something we do as hobby, not necessity.
-
@jsmithr56 First off, socialism is not about forcing redistribution of wealth, it's about socializing the necessary services of the economy to a multiple payer system. Artificial scarcity is completely real, the Agricultural Adjustment Act is one of many examples of how artificial scarcity is directly implemented. The government is part of the economy, politicians are working a job. If they were altruistic, they would accept government housing and no campaign donations. Think about it.
Im going to break your video using your own quote at the begging. Let me ask you how good is the economy in kenya doing right now????? The ppl there enjoy nothing to be compared with the capitalist society that allowys you to go out earn moeny so you can turn around and diss it on the internet. Let me ask you sir if not capitalism then what? History has proven communism fails unless it is applied on an extremly small scale. Fascism does function but no one wants that nazi germany anyone ?

@jonatron5 1. kenya is doing badly because our capitalist economies are directly profiting at their expense. the reason we appear so well off in comparison is because our corporations have stolen all of their resources.
but that point aside, i just wanted to say that i do not support communism, socialism, or any other previously defined philosophy. i support a society that bases it's decisions not on the wills of charismatic figures, but on scientific understandings.
