@5:56 To get every last bit of "mashed" fruits out of your food processor bowl and to make it easier to clean it up afterwards, add the 2 cups of rum to it and process for about 10 seconds.

My cake came out great this year, my fruit was soaked over a year.

This was so interesting, because the recipe & ingredients look so similar to the traditional fruitcake recipe handed down in my family. We too soak all the fruits, usually in a mix of rum & brandy, and once the cake is made, the whole cake itself is soaked in brandy for at least 2 weeks before being sliced & served. Makes me feel ambitious enough to maybe make it this year! :)
