I was a dancer on the Upbeat TV show from 1968 -1971 and was there the day this video footage was shot. The Funkadelic initially rehearsed the number dressed only in diapers. The show's director informed them that Upbeat was a family show and they couldn't perform in the "outfits". They changed into the attire that you see in the video clip. That and other behind-the-scene moments ard detailed in the book "She Can Go Where Pretty Girls Go" By Constance Gibson.
