@thefakeyeti There are tents that you can raise within a minut or two, and if your outside while raining, you should be having proper gear on ;)
-
do they have these in america?
-
They are brilliant but they are just to big to carry if you're a backpacker. Wish they could make one which was easier to carry.

Serria Designs has dry pitch kits. One can put up the poles and rainfly first then install the inner tent underneath in the rain. The bora 80 backpack also has wet gear bag on the outside of the pack so when your backpacking in the raining season..your READY for anything your wet gear is protected but allowed to drain while your backpacking. It's a good feature when it's wet outside. One tent is the Electron. It comes in 3 sizes and it is rock solid.

Check out Hilleberg.

People need to stop crying about the design it's great and it beat's the other tents. A blind man can do it.

set up the tent and spikes in 22 seconds................... beats my record of 34 minutes
One reason I want a pop up tent is because i figure it would be a good thing to have if it were pooring out..
The traditional tents, there is NO (practical)way to pitch a tent when it is raining, with out it flooding
Am i correct with this thought? Or misled?

PupUp-Tents are cool. I have a Quechua 2 Seconds II, a really nice tent! Perfect for festivals!
