3 Brothers, 3 Friends, 1 Love: Chapter 17 Part 3

I gasped and quickly grabbed the magazine and paid along with the food. I ran home my brain buzzing with thoughts.

Did Kevin know about this?
What would happen to Hayley?
What would mom say?
Would mom even care?

I crashed through the door to find Hayley cooking the previous pancakes and Carson sitting at the kitchen counter.

"What took so long?" Carson asked.
"Oh I got a little distracted." I said sarcasticly. "By this!" I practically screamed while throwing the magazine onto the kitchen counter. Carson took one glance at the cover and her face showed complete shock. Hayley quickly gathered at the counter to see what me and Carson were oggling at.

"OH MY GOD!" she shrieked. "Where did you get this?"
"The corner shop."
"How did this happen?"
"I think it had a little something to do with teenagers and raging hormones." Carson laughed while pouring some AJ into a tumbler.
"Do you think Kevin knows?" she asked.

At that moment, the room silent, we all heard a slight vibration from upstairs and immediatly knew who was calling Hayley's hidden phone.

"I guess were gonna find out." I gulped.

We all followed the noise from upstairs and quickly found the phone hidden beneath the sheats. Hayley picked it up and sure enough the ID said: Kevin Calling. Myself and Carson left the room to give them some privacy for what would deffinetly be an awkward conversation.

Hayley's POV

One minute my world was perfect. I had an amazing boyfriend. Amazing friends. And I was making the happiest food in the world - pancakes. Then in a split second my world crashed. On the cover of Us Weekly was myself and Kevin in what I could only describe as a compramising position. I was straddling Kevin and our lips were locked. I flipped to page 8 to see even more pictures of myself and Kevin kissing. The article read:

Eldest brother Kevin, from the famous band 'The Jonas Brothers' shared some private time in a rather public place with his rumored girlfriend. Our spy caught the pair lip locking in LAX airport before Kevin left on tour. We watched his girlfriend straddle him before he pushed away and led them to a more secluded spot. The staff lounge! Our source said the pair looked 'happy' and were being typical teenagers. How will these pictures effect the bands squeaky clean image?

I couldn't believe this. I questioned Riley on where she found this but apparently all the shops would be stocking this issue. Then my phone began vibrating. Carson and Riley gave me some private time as I clicked the answer button on my cell.

"Hello?" I asked nervously.
"Hayley. We need to talk." He said in a flat tone.
"I'm guessing you saw the pictures?"
"Yeah. And so did my parents and lets just say they aren't very happy."
"I'm sorry Kevin. I didn't know anybody was watching." At this point I broke down crying feeling guilty for causing Kevin to get into trouble. "I'm so sorry."
"Hayley, this isn't your fault. I didn't exactly stop you. Well except to go somewhere more private." he joked. This made me laugh.
"What's gonna happen?" I asked worried.
"There may be reporters outside your door. And people commenting on the pictures. But just remember. I love you. And we'll get through this." he reassured me.
"I love you too Kevin."
"Listen I've got to go. I'll call you later babe."
"Bye."

Then he hung up. I wiped at my eyes and walked back downstairs to explain my conversation to Carson and Riley.

"He told me his parents weren't happy. And that there could possibly be reporters outside our door. But we'd get through it together."

They nodded their heads taking in what I had said but still too shocked to say anything themselves. I sat at the kitchen counter and joined them in just staring into space. None of us were hungry anymore.

oh man! i would feel terrible if that happened to me... haha but at the same time, i wish it would=) just the part of me and kev ya know? not the magazine=) amazing chapter! can't wait for more!
