More than 1 billion people on the planet do not have access to clean, safe drinking water.
42000 people will die this week from water born diseases; that is ONE in EIGHT of us. 90% of them will be children under the age of FIVE
80% of all sickness in the planet is caused by unsafe water. It kills more people than all forms of violence, including war.
Millions of women and children in Africa walk EIGHT Kilometers every day to fetch unclean water that is likely to make them sick
One child dies every 15 seconds in Africa
Clean, safe drinking water is scarce. It is the foundation of life a basic human need. Yet today, far too many people spend their entire day searching for it. In Africa, at a single source of water, you will find animals defecate, women wash their clothes all at the same time and it is this water that children often walk miles every day to drink and take it back to their family. Only a few boil the water before drinking. The water is laden with filth and lather from chemicals and dirt.

For many dirty, diseased water leads to a cycle of sickness, lack of education, poverty and lost hope; it is needless suffering.
