United4Iran.org sponsored a worldwide rally called the Global Day of Action to protest the brutal crackdown conducted by current Iranian regime against its own people, to call for democratic reform and to honor human rights. They called on Iran's leaders to the voices of their people who seek democracy and release of all political prisoners who were arrested, abused or killed, simply for expressing their right to protest.
The Washington DC rally , organized by www.WhereIsMyVoteDC.org, started from the UN Building 1775 K Street. The parade then proceeded down 18th Street to the Mall, past the White House, The WWII Memorial, The Washington Memorial, The Smithsonian Institute Bldg and finally to staging area by the US Capital and National Gallery of Art (total ~2.5 miles during a typical - 95'Frying - hazy, hot & humid summer day.
Unfortunately, heavy rains/lightning later canceled most of the concert, but some special and artists were able to speak, sing and thank all participants. In this video the Iranian singer, Dariush, composed "Savaar Khahd Aamad" specifically for this rally; and it is played together in a photo-collage video on YouTube of our march through DC, July 25, 2009 - The "Global Day of Action" in Solidarity for the people of Iran.
America isn't looking for Iranian freedom, just its oil. America is not against the Iranian Government, they are against Islam. Why would America be trying to give women "freedom" when they already have it. Is covering your hair and not flirting a crime. Btw there are no killings in Iran, I know ppl there. This is all mostly american propoganda trying to get to iran
