Mary-Jess Leaverland, recording her version of the theme to the film "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", at Universals Demo Studios London. This was one of the songs she won the Chinese X-Factor with. Look out for her debut album out Feb 2011 on Decca Records.

  • 'Are You The Way Home', is her 1st single - out now, available for download from iTunes. 'Glorious', another track from the debut album, is available for free download from her website, mary-jess com - 'Stand As One', used on the P&G advert will also be on her album out in August. Until then, the only way to hear it is LIVE, this weekend on the last two dates of the Russell Watson tour in Ipswich and Bradford. More inside info can be found on my website. whitenoisetouring com

  • Yes, it's the Mary-Jess. She's currently on a UK tour as a special guest with Russell Watson.

  • @tanagerbirder You're right, Jess is lovely and very talented. However your last comment isn't true. She didn't succeed on X Factor because whoever was judging her audition didn't have any taste... it has nothing to do with the way she looked. Leona Lewis wasn't a tart, Alexandra Burke wasn't a tart, and nor were many other contestants on these singing competitions.

  • I saw her on breakfast TV yesterday and I have to say that I have seldon seen and heard a nicer girl. Completely natural, good looking, well spoken and replied thoughtfully to the questions put to her. So why didn't she succeed on X-Factor? Because she doesn't look like a tart!

  • @novadrian I was dating her cousin, so I was quite lucky to have met her just before she became semi-famous, She's probably the kindest person I've ever met, and I'm sure you'd agree:)

  • No of course not. Anyway she's got a new fan and I'll be spreading the word about her to friends and colleagues in other parts of the world. She was very modest, which will help her in her career. To tell the truth...she's far too good for competitions like the XFactor, though in China it's probably the ideal way to get noticed professionally. You only have to listen to her singing on the recording here and it's pretty obvious she's got it made.

  • I was standing outside the Chinese Travel Agency in the Euston Road today staring at the price of flight deals to Hong Kong when a slight young woman looking in the same window got into conversation with me. We talked about China, HK (where I have friends), music, etc. and she mentioned she was a recording artist. I asked her name "Mary Jess? I'll look you up on the Net." Now I'm very impressed of course. Nice meeting you Mary, All the very best.

  • I love this song, i came across it whilst listening to Kokia, beautiful..Looking forward to your album..My new fave..;)

  • Just lovely. Mary is going to be a star without any doubt.

  • The clarity and purity of her voice are amazing. She's got a rare talent.

  • A heart melting performance! :)
