And until today. Lisbon and its suburbs is fusion of Minhoto familes, Tras-os-Montes, Beiras, Alentejo etc.
Search Genea Portugal, Torre do Tombo, Documents, Chronicles of D. João I, D. João II, D. Manuel, Decadas da Asia, Armadas da India. That People, Nobles, Vice-Roys, Adventures, Captains had all family connections and Surnames and whatever they or their houses are from, Beira, Ribatejo, Alto Alentejo, Baixo Alentejo, they all had mostly, partly or full Northern Portuguese anc. origin.

@Jarnvarg To give a name modern Philologist call it Galician-Portuguese.
If you had learn Portuguese history you would know that ALL the first kings of the 1º Dinasty, special D. Sancho II, D. Afonso II, D. Afonso III and D. Dinis populated the empty lands of southern Portugal with People and hundreds of new villages for all the center and south (Alentejo have only around 4 centers before). In the XIV century all Surnames and Houses of Portucalense origin are in Lisbon and Alentejo.

@Jarnvarg Peoples of Conselhos of Braga, Guimarães supported strongly and in mass D. Afonso in the Medieval Chronicles. It was not the first autonomy attempt. Several ones before. Know history first. The language was the western "vulgar" language, or vulgar as was konwn in the times. You can call Galician if you want. To that vulgar language in the Portuguese side, D. Dinis officialized as Portuguese in 1290s and as an official national language.

@Jarnvarg The portuguese language born from GALICIAN as Galician born from latin and old proto-celtic languages and are not so rare as you can think is spoken by 3 millions of peoples on Galicia, northern Portugal, northwestern Castilla, western Asturias, some parts of Leon, this is not about nationalism is about history and ther is a lot of historical documentation and sources, this is not "my" point of view, there is facts, i know very well Portugal and Spain and of course Galicia
