Michigan Antique Festival's Got Talent Live - Paris Primeau

My daughter Paris Primeau performed for her first time at the 1st Michigan Antique Festival's Got Talent Contest June 5 2010.

Unfortunately the set up for voting was really set up for you to bring everyone you know to vote for you cause they only had 1 judge and he was only to pick 5 contestants of the top 10 to perform the next day for the 1000.00 prize family and friends were to vote for you and the top 5 with the most audience votes made it into the top 10.

We only had 4 of us to vote :) so those that came with 15-20 family and friends had an upper hand even if they didn't sound good or do well. However it was an experience and many came up to her and said she did a great job and sounded good so good learning and stage experience as this was her first public singing experience.

and last but not least my dear husband Stacy Primeau on the 12 string guitar he is awesome he learned both these songs in a few days time they both looked good together.

Yes she did it's too bad the voting was not set up to let talent get into the finals the contest rules said a panel of judges and audience participation but the way it went down was one judge who picked 5 of the top 10 and then the top 5 with the most audience votes which really did not come form the audience but form their own family and friends KWIM... so if you did not have an army of friends you had less of a chance to get in.

@angelEDSer the winners did have a powerful voice however 2nd place was just not right there were much better singers who made it into the top 10 and it blew my mind she got 2nd. I am not sure but sent a message today to ask how the voting went for the finals cause if it was based family and friends voting then talent wasn't an issue support was what made you a winner. We are glad she got to compete for the stage experience anyway. She had fun and wants to do this for a living and won't stop!

I completely agree, the judge had to of known the second place winner. Even the opera singer had better talent than her, she wasn't 2nd place worthy.
