Just a short extreme demonstration of how defocused points of light (airy discs inside the lens) tend to copy the shape of the entrance hole (pupil) of the lens. Usually the shape is circular disc, or maybe hexagon (because the hexagon shape of the iris system). But there are situations when the disc is more like an ellipse, or deformed circle, when it goes to the edge of the frame (the "cat eye" efect), because the pupil entrance is seen obligue from the edge.
But, finally, please DO NOT use this trick to MAKE HOAXES.
