The point is to make the game fun and playable. Sometimes, realism isn't the best way to make that so.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's now more COD oriented *shudders* but I gotta say the bad patches outweigh the good. Especially when you have to download a 1.4 GB update because they nerfed and powered up the wrong 3 guns.

I have to say though, one of the few good things they did was nerf the USAS-12 with Frag rounds. It was not only unrealistic, but it encouraged noobs and made the game so frustrating to the point that it was unplayable at the worst of times.

Here is the one thing that is messed up. The game use to be known for it's realism and open sandbox gameplay. The game is now more COD oriented, not requiring much skill or teamwork. Everyone is off on their own Rambo style.
