well im kinda wrong..they did have the other engine for the turnpike crusier pacesetter..it was 400 hp..but the only sold a handfull of those cars back in 58...we will never see one..lol..the turnpike pacesetter was the indy pace car for 1958..hence the name "pacesetter"so thats why i said 368 was the only option..it really isnt ,there where options but you will have a better chance finding a unicorn..lol..there was only 614 Turnpike crusiers built in 1957..

I would love to see the turnpike cruisers. Those were so neat with their opening rear windows. I was in the fourth grade when they were new. In 58, the only other year for this model I believe they got the 383 cu in engine which I believe was a destroked 430 Lincoln engine and was available in 2 horsepower ranges with the highest around 400 hp if I remember correctly, A similar engine was found in the Big Edsel also for 58.

actually the 368 was the only option in the turnpike crusier.I have 2 of them 1957's.4 door hardtops!

The largest Y block V8 Ford motor company built. Also offered as an option in the 57 Mercury Turnpike cruiser. These engines share almost no parts with the 54-62 Ford Y block engines although they look similar.
