Under My Umbrella

This might not be a Christmas Themed AMV, but its my present to you all this year for being such loyal and supportive viewers here on Youtube and also on Animemusicvideos.org.

Well how did I think of this one? It started when I discovered the breakout single from Rihanna Umbrella and watched the video intensely. Not only do I think she is a beautiful woman and worthy of my fanboy crush, but also a damn good recording artist. Im actually surprised that more AMV editors have not used this song, but then again Disturbia is very cool too.

As for using Black Lagoon, I was particularly moved by the story arc of Garcia Loveless (the boy) and his maid/friend/bodyguard Roberta. I could really feel a connection with her plight and the lyrics of the song, not to mention that her primary weapon of choice just so happens to be an umbrella.

I put this project on the shelf for a while because I wanted to make sure that I got the synchronization of the music and action near perfect. Of course, since I had been planning this for so long, when it finally came time to begin editing it only took two days to piece it together. There are really no extra special effects here because I suppose the action speaks for itself well enough.

P.S. This is my first project working in 16:9, so if there are any issues with the widescreen transfer or anything like that, please leave me a detailed comment about it.

To be honest, this song was an uber strange choice for someone like (fricken amazing) Roberta... and then... it just somehow perfectly captured their relatonship! I really loved it! It was a great way to summarize their entire ordeal and how they, no matter what happens, still look out for each other. The best part ironically was at 01:04 .I really love it! Great job!
