saab 9000, 2.3T chases BMW M5

A saab 9000 2,3 Turbo, 1996 yearmodel (200 hp), chasing an BMW M5 2006 yearmodel (507 hp).

Notice that at the end of the video, the saab goes 200km/h in 4th gear, while the BMW probably goes in 5th gear and is still disappearing. :)

the bmw is limited electronical at 250 km but the saab has a linear vector engine

If the Saab driver hit the top speed of 240 km/h instead of less than 230 Km/h, the Saab will be less than 2 second behind BMW. I have hit close to 240 Km/h many times, it is always the running out of open safe road that stop the speed. I know it is the hand that is sweating. People who don't know Saab think that when its hit 220+ the car is tuned. By the way, my 96 Saab 9000 CSE (16 yrs old )is still with me today and still going strong tailgating rich folks cars.

Na da hast aber Glück.. ich maloche 40std inner woche fürne scheiss metall firma und kann mir nix anderes leisten,....... aber Mein 9000er macht mir spass vorallem nachm Stage3 umbau........ 320+ pferde aus 4 zylinder.....die definition des turbolochs war noch nie soooo geil... :P und nen "kleinen" porsche schaff ich auch... letztens nen boxter "weggepustet".......(egal ob der besitzer zu blöd war den rechten fuß zu benutzen... aber ich hab ihn mit wonne überholt)

who gives a shit. bmw.s are in a whole other league then saab.

I have choosen a Saab 9000 2.3 Turbo for the family - it is a safe, reliable and well-equipped car. Well-thought, lots of space for the kids (and theit toys), lots of space for the shopping (no need to explain, do I?)

Excellent car for winter (we currently live in Sweden).

Plus, I can have some fun (I usually get away with it, since we are both car lovers, my wife and me)

We both do not want to miss it anymore, it's even better than a van Allthough Saab is dutch these days - excellent car.

Funny how some people needs to trash Saab because this car can't keep ud with a car with 10 years newer technology and about 2.5 times the horsepower - what is so surprising about that?

Compare it with a 1996 323ti or 325i would be more realistic and fair race.
