Many stories to tell about being a Marine Drill Instructor at Parris Island, SC. This is just one about a recruit that swallowed a bottle of pills trying to get kicked out after hearing either suicide or graduation was the only way to leave the island. He was not trying to commit suicide, he was however trying to leave the island.

  • where the hell did a recruit get a whole bottle of pills from

  • @usmcmisfit Its not uncommon during third phase of training to have the recruits keep all the meds issued to them during training. Its a legal issue that all Drill Instructors must follow. Two of my recruits were caught by the firewatch "Snorting" Vicodin, needless to say I dropped their sorry asses to RSP the following week.

  • RECRUIT! DID YOU SWALLOW A WHOLE BOTTLE OF PILLS?! DRINK YOUR WHOLE CANTEEN IT WILL KILL YOU A WHOLE LOT FASTER! I love this.

  • the marines, the few, the proud, the dead.

  • @deliciousmorton with shame

  • @usmcmisfit he found them in the swamps of parris island

  • @usmcmisfit from medical? they let us keep all the regular stuff like ibuprofen etc.

  • knucklehead XD

  • So calmly... "knucklehead."

  • @IROCKOSIRIS The constant rise and inflection of the voice (Screaming and shouting) causes severe strain on the larynx. When you yell for a short amount of time your voice becomes hoarse and will return after a couple of days. Drill Instructors don't take a break from yelling so to adapt, most of us use whats called a "Frog" voice to prolong our voices, that coupled with the animation in which you often see a Drill Instructor engaged adds shock value. You will become used to this and understand.

  • @smokeyhat im going to be joing the marine corp after highschool in 4 years and i ve watched a few videos with DI's in them and i cant understand a word they are saying is that maybe because of the camera that was used or is it just their voice's
