Our 108 year old Celebrity Hero Ambassador for the Hero To Hero Troop Morale Campaign is a Godsend - We couldn't have asked for better ...

John F. "Jack" Babcock is a true hero, whether by default (as is his claim), or deed. After spending time with him you just somehow feel that all is as it was intended that this man be Canada's living legacy of WWI. Jack amazes and amuses with his memories of days gone by.

He will oft times break into a little ditty, or recite a bit of ornery rhyme in between sharing stories of traveling by mule, and being with so many young boys (He was only 15) joining up to fight a war a world away. Are there lapses, well of course. And we just wait 'til the clouds clear and he shines yet again.

We've had the honor of visiting with him and his - amazing in her own right - wife, Dorothy on several occasions now. We're very happy that our camera has been welcomed during our visits and we have been able to capture quiet times, and outright laughter with this wonderful couple.

On this visit, Canada's Julian Austin came to meet the man, along with our own Hero To Hero Team Canada Director, Kevin McHarg, young firefighter Beau Jackson., & USAF retiree Brad Jackson. In this clip Julian and Jack get to know each other while we just sat back and enjoyed every minute. There is very little editing to let you feel more like you were with us.

We have lots more where this came from, and feel it is to be shared ... Especially with our Canadian friends & heroes. We know there will come a day when we can no longer visit personally, and hope that we help him leave a true and accurate history as he saw it.

Thank you Jack & Dot - You are both truly inspirations ... And a whole lot of fun besides. Wish I knew that history could be so much fun - I'd have gotten better grades!

And thank you Julian (Canada's Tobey Keith/Bob Hope & one of our Hot Chacha's) for all you do for all of our troops and those who support them - You my friend are also an amazing man! The intro music is the lead in to the Red & White, by Julian Austin

Kevin McHarg, I wish we could clone you! Your countrymen should be so proud of all you do to keep positive morale for your troops alive - couldn't do half of what I do without you!

Beau & Brad, thank you for the great camera work and for everything that you both do so quietly in the background. You guys never ask for recognition, but always do more then anyone knows to make this all possible. I love you and thank you both!

Honor Jack's service and his memories. Support the troops. And no matter which country, wear RED (Remember Everyone Deployed) every Friday!

  • Hey Liz,

    Great job on the video.

Jack and Dorothy are two pretty incredible people.

I look forward to seeing the next chapter from our visit with them.
