Holy Shit this is 1964?! I was always under the impression (becaue I grew up having it pounded into my head) that 1964 belonged to Motown and Beatlemania...

This band literally blows all that away. I never heard of The Sonics until I was linked from another vid but I immediately love them. Way ahead of their time and I am not being cliche. I definatly will be looking into this amazing band's music.

Hey 1040 I too had never heard of them until I read some cool comments about them on a vid by the Liverpool Five, my mom's favorite band from the Sixties. I was hooked on the LP5 but now have to add the Sonics to my faves.

Thanks I'll look into them. Kind of annoys me how I was "brainwashed" as a kid into believing those two things not only defied the year but that those were the only music of value because of popularity (especially the Beatles). Damn media...

i just found out that Fred Dennis, who many years ago was with the Liverpool Five and later the Kingsmen, has joined the Sonics for their current European tour. What a great addition...hope he sticks with them for a while,,,,he is real screamer!!!

Check out the Monks too man. (there's two bands called the monks, look up the one with the song "I Hate You")

Too bad there isn't any film footage of the band in concert from the 60s. They were really wild on stage.
