The UN has declared Internet access a human right. Aaron Swartz, Executive Director of demandprogress.org discuss everything from copyright infringement, to privacy verses free speech, and national security; Wikileaks. And explains why this is a right.

  • Honestly, they should stay the fuck out — first comes declarations, then they start adding in limitations and then violations and then it's fucked!

  • No one is talking about this cause they're scared. And they should be. Big business is finally going to get what they deserve. Valve can no longer ban accounts whenever they want when we fucking pay for those games, forums can't ban members when they want, this will be a great leap for human rights. And you just want to pretend the big mean boogie man of government will somehow make it worse. It can't GET any worse then privatization.

  • wow i guess liberals gets paranoid to lols,,anyways I'm sure this is already happening to us in youtube alone which by the way is now being run by an Iranian, i bet they fix the views of the videos they want to promote to make it viral, and lessen those that's not politically correct...

the perfect example of this situation is China, Russia

  • Technological advances for the public welfare should be a right. Otherwise, financial gain will retard human innovation and evolution.

Man cannot give itself the wheel and take it away. Even if every wheel is destroyed, we will not forget how it works. New ones will be created. I'd like to see someone take back an invention that belongs to everyone; see how that works for them.

  • As stated before, "we pay for internet"

So even if its not my right, I made it my right by paying my bills.

This ofcourse will all change overtime, when all our rights are taken away.

We proclaimed poverty decades ago, by criminals investing our finance sector and governments. We already lost our rights decades ago, im sure we will all have no internet after another period of time. Which period is indefinite because I dont rule the world and I cant forecast. But somebody will make that choice.

  • to such issues falls upon the banksters and the 21st century criminals.

But then even RT's heads will hang.

Thats why we're discussing such foolysh topics.

Thats why we keep talking about silly things such as gay marriage while the economy is collapsing beneath us.

Because everything we read is a filler to disguise the real topics that should be discussed.

But if a news hosts opts to discuss the real issues, their heads hang.

So they fill it in with moronic topics that deserve no discussion.

  • THis is what I hate about todays world.

The economy is collapsing further by every second.

And all we can come up with as a partial solution is to debate what rights we have.

Is this going to help us?

Is this going to repay our debt?

What if the decide its not out right, and we have no internet tommorow.

Then how do I even watch this freaking VIDEO???

I do know the real answer to this idiocity. Why they even open to discuss things like this.

Because we cant discuss the real issues.

    As the answer

  • @vechorik i have to pay for internet. i don't trust free internet.

  • @PsychicFaithBand, Have you not noticed? YOU CAN GET INTERNET ACCESS AT ANY PUBLIC LIBRARY!!!!! We tax payers are ALREADY paying for free internet for anyone that can’t afford it!

  • Yes is it, so why are they planning to censor it now?

  • This is a good interview... RT news..the only one i trust these days!
