me jamming on some classic rock riffs with a Marshall JVM 410 on the crunch red channel. I have an xotic bb preamp pushing the front end of the amp a little as well. light reverb as well.

  • Fizzy, for growl an 800 will work better or an 1959 with attenuator for that matter.

  • @fon267 yeh it was a bit fizzy but in the room it was considerably less fizzy.....the little cam corder flip camera I was using does not have the best audio....

  • @masque1313 well the camera is relevant for sure, I have the same Gibson Les Paul (had it refinished though) but I use it with a 1959 cranked with a Rivera attenuator and its raw!. I guess a great deal in tone has to do with the volumes, even in the master volumes amps cranking them up improves the tone dramatically, I can´t imagine not having an attenuator anymore, they just improve your sound so much. Cheers

  • @fon267 ah man.....i agree 100% I have been looking hard at the Rivera attenuators....I am very impressed with how they sound and thinking about getting one for sure.....

  • which song is the first riff?

  • @hmn4466 somebody get me a doctor by van halen from van halen 2

  • @masque1313 well I recommend it, its quite expensive but I'm sure it would bring a lot of extra tone to your amp, I've also heard many good things about JVMs but as I said even in master volumes an attenuator can exploit a lot more of an amps potential. Keep Rocking

  • This is awesome! I have the same set up - except my Les Paul Traditional is in Desert Burst LOL! I use Crunch Red with a BB Preamp for my main rhythm tone live (covers band) and it gets used for probably 80-90% of the night. Great amp. OD1 Orange is my next favourite. Great saturated tone there.

  • @masque1313 thanks bro. Been trying forever to get a solid crunch tone out of my JVM

  • @bada222 the fx loop was engaged and running thru a lexicon mpx-1.....and I sort of control the overall output volume at that unit. the master volume was on about 2-3 but actual volume in the room was low....towards the end of the video i make a pretty big mistake and stop playing and say "yikes" and then begin playing again.....when I speak you can hear that my voice is similar volume to the amp or maybe a little lower. gain was on 6 with a BB preamp engaged with it's gain on about 2-3.
