7 Ghosts I

This is just a series of photos I took out of a bus window on a trip to and from Ikea, just a few days before Ghosts was announced. When I listened to the album, this track came up and this series of photos came into my head.

Then I created the movie last week, before the Film Fest was announced.

For once I was actually prepared.

I think alot of this footage would be great when used with something else. Alot of these videos seem to have this problem...they are good pieces but not enough to stand on their own. There needs to some emotion or thoughts conveyed by the piece. The music is abstract enough...the footage needs to channel that music into something.

I agree that the piece is lacking in real content, but i was approaching it as a textural, not a content driven piece. This is a style I've been working with for a couple of years now, and while I and those who were there find it visually interesting, it tends to loose something to the average viewer. I enjoy experimenting with digital photography and editing it into video, but I'm still struggling with giving it a more mainstream appeal. thanks for the comments.

I love the choppy effect, it goes great with the music! The colors and scenes are really visually interesting. I do agree with others that it doesn't demand constant interest. I like how signs and the word Metroplitan pop up. Adding in more words/distinctive objects like that would break up the visual battery enough to keep the viewer deeply absorbed in it I think. Either way, great work!

Well that comes off as kinda snotty...but I do know what you mean. Keep working on it for us knuckle heads! Are you going to put up some more videos for other songs?
