Amtrak Silver Star #91 10/5/08

P42DC #166 and #51 lead the southbound Silver Star into Alexandria. Today's train had a very friendly crew, I got into a conversation with two sleeping car attendants while the train was stopped.

You don't see it, I was walking up to the head of the train to film the departure, and as I walked by the sleepers they started talking to me, and we had an interesting conversation about how much a Viewliner costs($1,000,000), as well as how much it costs to refurbish a Heritage Diner ($500,000).

The Silver Meteor has an identical consist to the Limited, except for the Heritage diner on the Meteor, and the Horizon dinette on the LSL.
