Okay, they're not perfect like manufactured statues, but the pride of having made one of your own is worth the work. Selecting what you wish to make is the first step, and can be taken on eBay. Inflatable critters of all kinds await your search. Swimming pool floats are a good choice because the latex is strong. However, except for ice molds, they are a one use item. I've put together this video to give you a rule of thumb in statue making. The rule is not set in concrete.LOL
Something to keep in mind, is that the bigger the statue, the less likely you'll be able to move it from the spot you have made it. Cement is very heavy and will distort the latex as the filling process takes place. The chances of your choice of critter ending up shaped exactly as the inflatable are impossible. Keep support in mind. Anything you can do to prop up the mold is very important. However, the most important thing to remember, is to have fun with your statue making project.

  • i dint see tiger how it looks

  • @superbsman The tiger ended up being a the brown leopard.

  • i made my own mold for concrete pyramids. The reason doing so, is to put near the curb so people wouldnt park there cars on the side walk. They look great. I made about 12 of them and it seems to be working. no worries about people taking them. They do weigh about 90 lbs each.

  • @darthinvaderson That was a great idea you had. Today I started making a walrus. It already has 3 bags of cement, and it isn't done yet. That baby will take a crane to move.

  • that's shite

  • better make sure thats where you want it to be permanently. it will be too heavy to move and may cause it to break when moving it.

  • I guess you have to be creative when you make these statues.

  • Cool video. Thanks

  • I'd make a comment, but would rather go buy a few bags of cement to try and make a statue.

  • This is something I've got to try. Hope I can find an inflatable horse. The bigger the better.
