@cmnrsn - My part Maine Coon Noah was about two when I noticed him panting. When I took him to the vet, he said that was not a good sign and diagnosed him with a heart condition called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. It was found by ultrasound. He was then put on heart medication, and later also baby aspirin for the rest of his life. He lived 13 years but may not have had he not been diagnosed. Hope this isn't the case with your kitty!

Thank you for posting this!! I was so worried when my Maine Coon started panting. I've checked his tongue and gums and they're bright pink - so hoping it's because he runs around quite a bit... I've never had a cat pant before!! His vet check up is next week - and I've already called them about it - they said to keep an eye on him and we'll check it out at the visit. Hoping it's a Maine Coon Thing! :o)

Wow! Is he a young cat? They do that when they play very hard and then take a break(mine used to do that) it's common. Or when they are very hot! Was he ok?? If yes than this is cuteness overload!

@Suzan4B he was about 6 months old when this vid was taken, i played with him alot that day , thats why he was panting so much :)

@kittyfidelity I figured! My little man(not so little now) was a frantic player and would pant like a maniac!1 I was so scared at first.

@Suzan4B when i saw my persian pant for the first time, my family got really scared wondering what was wrong with him. :)

@kittyfidelity I know!! it's very scary!! I almost fainted on the spot and called the vet and the animal shelter friends I have.
