Some people get it in a week or two, others never get it -- a lot depends a lot on the individual. The best way to get started is to go to formZ (dot) com, go to Downloads: Demo Videos and see the instructional videos at the top. Then go to Download: Documentation and download the Tutorial.pdf, and also Download: formZ Demo. Then try using the Demo and following through the tutorial.
You might also want to check out bonzai3d (dot) com for a slightly easier program.

That view is controlled by a spaceball made by 3Dconnexion. Its a division of Logitech. You can get a spaceball for about $60.
