  • Anyone with a soul cannot be but moved by this music and Jackie's performance. I truly lack the vocabulary to adequately express how this woman and her music move me. I smile, I cry, I am stirred deep inside. This is the essence of what truly exceptional music and musicians can do. Once you hear this you are changed. You can't go back.

  • Gotta love the smile at the very, very end. Amazing.

  • Her pizzicati at 0:05 ......... the fingers of death and sorrow ........ but so incredibly soft ....;

  • When I listen to the "others" , I hear something ..... and forget .... with Jacqueline du Pré , one time , and the music is FOREVER in my head , in HER version .......!

  • Jacqueline was ....is....will....always remain a genius!

  • Bella!!! sublimee!!!

  • @dancedelirium hahaha...your comment has made me laugh in front of my computer... but I could see what you mean

  • I never knew about Jacqueline Du Pré until some weeks before when my Cello`s teacher told me about her. I bought the Jacqueline Du Pré Elgar Concert on DVD! This is the best dvd that I bought in all my life! She was Amazing!!!

  • this alone is why i learned cello

  • what a phenomenal performance! dramatic yet clean & neat. she makes it look so easy, breezy and fun.

  • This is a wonderful performance, but it's not perfect. I say this because only Elgar himself would be able to christen a performance of this piece perfect, and he died eleven years before Jacqueline Du Pré was even born. When people say what I am saying, you all like to call them "uneducated," (one person even called another a "fag"), when you are in no place to do so. To say that this piece should never even be recorded again because of du Pre is beyond absurd.
