The Stench of Truth 189 Thanks to VocalBrush [ http://www.youtube.com/user/vocalbrush ] and OnlyWhenProvoked [ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ApBNgHcnJM ] for this, as well as the ACLU [http://www.aclu.org/privacy/spying/areyoulivinginaconstitutionfreezone.html ] This is a serious issue. Your rights re pretty much for nothing if you are within 100 miles of the border in this country. The border patrol has the right within that zone to question, search, and arrest you without probably cause AND if you choose to remain silent that can be construed as suspicious and you could be arrested. This needs to be stopped now. This kind of lawlessness cannot be sustained. Just because they are not doing it to you now does not mean that they can't or won't. Call your congressperson and senator to tell them to stop this insanity now.

  • Fortunately, this is not true. There is no constitution-free-zone. Although the federal government does infringe on quite a few of our civil liberties on a daily basis, there is no constitution free zone. Just because ACLU publishes an article on it, does not make it true. Everything has its own slant, nothing can be totally objective, and this is simply a misinterpretation or simply total falsehood.

  • @DeathByBurning I'm afraid it's more complicated than that. In the performance of their "duties" they can and do routinely violate the constitution. They don't call it a constitution free zone but that is, in effect, what it is. Border patrol can search or detain at their discretion which is hardly constitutional. The only thing positive to say about this is that it has not been used very much since this video was made.

  • You do have the right to not answer. But they can ask you questions. Usually people who are smuggling drugs or people give bullshit answers that are telling. I don't agree with the 100mi thing, but I'm all for searches of vehicles coming in, and a simple questioning of those coming in. I mean, if not, you might as well just put a red carpet out there with embroidered words sewn in Arabic asking Al Qaeda to drive in with some dirty nukes or biologicals and have a nice day while they're at it.

  • @NoGuff They can do that very well ON THE BORDER, not 100 miles away.

  • SO Stop fucking blaming the Border Patrol for doing their jobs. AND BLAME THE FUCKING ILLEGALS COMING INTO OUR COUNTRY.

  • @CTastic1 They can do they're job at the border. A 100 hundred mile zone encompasses a lot of land to have to endure a loss of your civil liberties. I have no problem with the border patrol patrolling the border.

  • looks like you got a few DICKHEADS on your video comments, the kind of people that like to call YOU a loser for making important videos with a message, but not them selves for wasting countless hours trolling around, it's fucking beutiful

  • Dude...your going off on this one...even for you. It's good though. DUI check points all over my city this weekend. They call them safety check points. Tried calling my reps a bunch of times about lots of different stuff. Didn't do shit. I am over it now. Waiting for whatever to happen. Have a nice day.

  • @DeathByBurning that was last year...how about now???

  • FUCK ME!!!! now they are taking away my medical marijuana AND my house and freedom not to be searched. SEE YOU in JAIL or most likely a FEMA CAMP.

ALOHA & SHALOM from a 100% VIETNAM VET self medicating since 1970's.

p.s. no need to put on my lead hat...they;ll probably confiscate it from me..you know, some sort of weapon.

  • @isdfgbsdf I'm on the left, politically. I'm on the way radical left. I believe 100% our government does not care about us, the will of the people, or anything other than lining their pockets. However. The idea that you believe this shit is repulsive. The ignorance exhibited is astounding. All of these things still require just cause, and we still have the writ of Habeas Corpus. Nothing has repealed the bill of rights, so your 'friends' are idiots who do not stand up against the corruption. sad.

  • @DeathByBurning You need to read the patriot act. You are no longer protected by the constitution. The broad sweeping powers given to the government do not just include warrantless searches and seizures they include incarceration indefinitely with no charges, no legal representation, or knowledge to friends or family of any kind. I personally know of people who have had thier property "appropriated" un constitutionally. Wake up. George bush was quoted The constitution is" just a piece of paper"

  • @isdfgbsdf Also not true. Consititutional law is a big area, and most of the time in court, if you can argue the point, then you are protected by the constitution. People are idiots, because #1) When they are illegally searched not adhering to the constitution, such as is supposedly happening in this 'constitution free zone' why the hell are they not going to court over it? Because it doesn't fuckign happen. #2) People don't try to argue the constitution on their behalf. They leave it to others.

  • @DeathByBurning You are right......there is no "zone" theres just no fucking constitution anymore!!

  • @tenebroust about this country being a perfect paradise, but the idea that this constitution free zone truly exists is ridiculous. I know people who cross the border routinely, and i know people who also are hired by gangs to routinely smuggle across the border, and have yet to hear of a single time of the violation of rights in these areas, and i am quite inclined to believe that you have not either.

  • @tenebroust How is the constitution violated? I can come to your home, stand just outside of your property line, most likely in a government owned street (public property) and scream insults at you for hours, and when carried off by the police, I can claim my constitutional right to freedom of speech has been violated. You appear to be so blinded by this search for violations of rights, that you've jumped at an article that did not need to be jumped at. I have no fairy tale ideas about this
