Celebration of Dance
...is a concert with a mission as part of the National Dance Week campaign: "to promote dance by bringing recognition and visibility to dance-arts." Celebration of Dance is our gift to Arizona's dance community to showcase the diversity of our dance-culture here in the Southwest... and to present it to our supportive and wonderful audiances in Arizona...
Celebration of Dance 2011 will mark the 12th year of presenting these dance concert-events. For the past twelve years these concerts have been Arizona's contribution to the National Dance Week's campaign; to help bring recognition and visibility to dance-arts in our communities. And, we have successfully been doing just that, in thanks to Arizona's dance community for their creative contribution and in thanks to our local media and for the public's support.
Celebration of Dance (Arizona) is held in April/May of each year to commemorate National Dance Week and sometimes beyond to continue to showcase these wonderful works of dance. Celebration of Dance is a great opportunity for the public to experience such wonderful and diverse dance selections as well as a great opportunity for the dance community to show their work on stage, in public in front of an enthusiasic audiance.
Celebration of Dance is a professional concert production and presented at various prestigious theaters around town.
Auditions for performers are held each year during the first Saturday of March. The the dance community is invited to submit their work for consideration to perform in this exciting annual event by live auditions or video entry.
