Lanegan crushes this song - he owns it like he's lived it. When I heard Green Day do it, I was so pissed off I wanted to make Billy Joe voodoo dolls and do terrible things to them.

@pjam07pjam The Working Class Hero John Lennon Tribute cd is available on Amazon. And it's not that expensive at all... it is getting rarer though. I found it for 50p in a bargain bin at an independent record store many years ago!

Lennon just seems to sing about the crisis the protagonist of this song is in. Mark sounds as if he IS the protagonist. This cover is a real jewel among stones.

Amazing cover. It sounds as if Lanegan wrote and felt the lyrics himself. You cannot say that very often about a cover.

Kinda my point - they ruined it with a bunch of distorted guitars thinking they were being cool. Not to mention BlowJob's obnoxiously transparent voice.
