A rare look into early movie theatre advertising. Mastered from the original 35mm nitrate print.

  • The "Royal Revues", according to Tim Romano, were filmed in 1931 and '32 at a small studio in Grantwood, N.J., 'Oly'. They were used as a "backdrop" for local advertisting flashed on the screen (much as a vaudeville curtain promoted several local businesses within its tapestry).

  • Thank you soooo much i have been trying to find this everywhere! ^_^

  • Omigosh... I realized this was CENTRALIA, WASHINGTON... my mom lives near there. I recognized the street names of "Tower" and "Main", which are where the oldest part of town is. The theater, I think now is the FOX theater is still there where this movie was made for advertising local business. Centralia is very charming and an really is restoring the old styles streets and such. I wonder if the orchestra and singer were filmed in the FOX or elsewhere? Amazing.

  • Great little tune. I also love the harmony. I always enjoy hearing this, when ever I see, It happened one night with Gable and Colbert.

  • hmmm that's kind of like how it is nowadays. hunh.
