This is me with my Blue Jay, Frightful. He was rescued after a sever thunderstorm, he was blown out of his nest. He was not hurt, but he was not old enough to hop, or even move. Still a lot of pink. I watched him for about an hour to be sure he had no parents, and they didn't come. But he now has great life with us and probably will stay until around November. In this video he is not full grown. When ever I fed him I whistled, so in the beginning I whistled and he came. Who knew I would be a mom at age 11!

  • Did you happen to name him after Sam's falcon in "My Side of the Mountain"?

  • This looks like an older jay. But thanks for the blue jay food tip I was trying to think of other foods I might try with MY bluejay family.
