Socom 16 Sniper Rifle Shooting

This is me and my friend shooting the socom 16 for the first time i have only shot 4 guns in my life this was the third. we were shooting from 25 and 50 foot because that was the farthest distance in the in door range. we were very acurate.

Good video. A couple of questions:

-Was the gun brand new and accurate out of the box or did you have to do some sight adjustments?

-What the heck was causing those misfires?

hell no it wasent new. we were indoor meaining the range was undeterminable.

the gun was rented so it had been shot and not properly cleaned in a while

the misfires are prob gunpowder from not being cleaned.

this was not out gun. and we cant really go shoot somewhere else because its very far away.

so to answer your questions. not new. adjusments i have no idea about i wasent going to clean something for them lol

it has been known as a sniper rifle with propper scope and range it can be adapted to the field in combat as such.

The socom 16 is considered more of a scout/battle rifle. With it's 16" bbl the effective range is 300 - 400 yards. Standard size m14 rifles have been refitted with with sage ebr stocks in Iraq and afghanistan. They are being used in a dmr role. Then there is the m21 model. That is the designated "sniper" variant. Fun gun...love the shock wave the muzzle break on that socom puts off.

I realize any type of gun can be used for "sniping" but I dont see this one out on battlefield....

While I have a SOCOM 16 myself, and I consider it my 'When the lights go out' rifle, I wouldn't describe it as a sniper rifle.
